$750.00 Cause a new trans is $2000 PLUS.
You don't mention the mileage on the truck, but at it's age the truck is probably worth less than the cost of swapping transmissions. It would only be economically sensible if you already had a cheap or free tranny. If you have storage space break the vehicle down and part it out, or sell it off as a mechanic's special.
A 1999 Dodge Ram with a good transmission is next to worthless, but with a blown transmission, the best thing to do is scrap it for the metal.

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 it makes a noise and has metal shavings in the oil pan. Has a new battery and recent oil pump. What would the value of the truck be?

Shavings is not good, likely needs rebuilt as cam or other main bearings have took a dump. All the shavings are grinding down every bearing now. Depends on over-all shape. Dents and bad paint, cracked glass ect. scrap price to very good condition, maybe a $500-1500 to the right person. The dodge of this body style if solid will always have someone needing parts so sell to someone needing the trans and a good body & interior if yours has it. Even running I have seen these trucks sell for $1500.00. Like I said before the trans in these if good are worth more out and for sale then in it having to be pulled out. A good used one could be sold for $800-1500 by itself.
