Oil pressure

Asked by Dodgeprob Jun 03, 2017 at 12:10 AM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT Club Cab LB RWD

Oil pressure was dropping to zero then
back up when stopped.  Changed
sending unit still happening.   Changed
oil, filter, and pump.  Now have no oil
pressure

Sounds like a plugged oil pickup screen. Sludge will stop it up and cause oil pressure to drop when driving but come back up at idle.

if an elect.sending unit..take it out and try a mech.line and gauge or turn it over with the ign.disconected..might make a mess but is itshooting out oil? also you can pull a valve cover and see if its getting oil up top ???
