Transmission on my 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2 V8 will not go into reverse

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I dropped the pan and had metal shavings
but i drive it daily in all other gears its
automatic need help why no reverse?????

Cause u ruin. The transmission. My husband works on cars he said to tell u took locked up the reverse gears in it it will work in the other gears that didn't. Get shaving. In them

Probably not. Reverse is usually the first gear to give out. You need to have a shop look at it, but very likely you need to have it rebuilt.

I can rip in to it but its my first dodge im used to chevy truck and Toyota cars but i didn't no if it would but worth the time and money to rebuild or just get a new one
