99 Ram 1500

Asked by Don Oct 14, 2015 at 05:42 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 Ram 1500 with a 318 in it. This
truck keeps stalling on me and it takes a
while to start back up. I have replaced the
computer, crankshaft sensor, ignition
switch, idle control sensor. I can be driving
and it just stalls and takes a while to,crank
over. Before I was getting codes on the
odometer that there was no communication
between the computer and the truck so I
sucked it up and bought a new computer. I
am not receiving any more codes and it is
running better but I just can't figure out sure
to look next. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

This may be a little hard to diagnose, but when the truck cuts off on you, check for fire at a plug,if there is fire, may be bad fuel pump,im only thinking this because there is no codes.

Mark, it is trying to fire and i can hear the fuel pump. It is also a new fuel pump.

Dgos, check the fuel pressure if it is firing a little.May just be clogged filter,or could be a new bad pump.
