When I put my 99 dodge 1500 in 4h it is making some serious metal grinding noises any suggestions to help fix problem

ok then you have an issue with the overdrive planetary gear set ...this is in the tail shaft housing of the trany and can be removed and serviced with out taking out the tranny ...// I would drop the pan and change the fluid and filter as well
