Buy a higher octane rating gas if it's pinging on 87. Try buying the next higher grade until it stops all the noise.
alot of times your timeing could be off have that checked and make sure it is timed right. That alone will cause pinging. I have the same truck and from day one I run 89 octane and I have no problems. Good Luck!!!!!!
I got same truck its drive me absolute insane butt i only good 93 i feel like drive mercedes i would like find answers how can i drop on 87 please help me
Same truck it just doesn’t like 87 89??? A little better but 93 seems to be the answer even though the manual says otherwise
Be sure you know the source of the noise. I thought the same thing but turned out to be my harmonic balancer. Got that fixed and after a few days of what seemed like silence, I hears the subtle sounds of pinging. 2 bottles of Lucas fuel injector cleaner and problem solved.
