Do you get the "hiss of death" just before the engine dies??? Look down the throttle body and check for a swimming pool of oil on the floor of the intake manifold. If there's lotsa oil down there, then your plenum gasket is blown...it's a common problem. Remove the oil filler cap n listen/feel for suction from the open hole. Put a towel over the hole, if it gets sucked onto the hole, you got a bad gasket. Also, remove and clean the intake temp sensor on the passenger side...#1 intake runner. It can be dirty or coated with oil, or just plain bad. I it's dirty/bad it sends a false signal to the ECM. The idle air control valve on the throttle body can be either bad...OR...I hear they only like Mopar approved IACs. Just about every 2nd gen Dodge owner has gone thru this one, you'd feel left out if you didn't.
