I have a 46re transmission and I have been  putting it
together.... I have ran into a problem   I cannot get the Sun
shell to fit into the slot into the front drum ... and if iam
using the wrong  Terminology I apologize

There is a drum that is attached to a sun gear, so, yeah...it could be properly descriptive. Painting a picture with words went out with Paul Harvey so can you link a pic or vid n post it?

That looks like the clutch pack inside the drum isn't properly lined up, or has too many clutches n steels in it. Since it looks like you still got the tranny out, take the oil pump back off n try realigning the clutch pack n the kickdown drum again.
