Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 3.9 liter V6 I
replace the spark plugs in it and it would crank but
not turn over so I ran all the wires and ended up
replacing my entire wiring harness and still the
same problem so it's not any wiring everything else
seems to be working good is there a reason why
my truck will turn over but not start any help or
advice or ideas would be much appreciated

First of all is the check engine light on ? If so you can go to your nearest parts store like autozone and rent the scan tool that will read the codes for you telling you why your vehicle will not start. Something else you can do is spray some starter fluid or throttle body cleaner into intake and if vehicle starts for a couple of seconds then that will let you know you are not getting fuel if no start check for no spark.
If there is no spark at the plugs it could be the coil or the crank pick up sensor. Your spark first starts at the crank sensor and sends a signal to the coil and so on. I bought both and changed the easiest one first( coil) fired up on the first flip. Returned the unopened crank sensor and good to go.
put new coil on it and new distributor still cranks but no start
The spark starts at the crank sensor. Get a spark tester that has a light in it, put it on the coil and coil wire have someone crank it if it does not light up change the crank sensor in the bell housing, crank and check again. Mine started up and ran with the tester still in place. Best place to look for this stuff is on youtube when your stuck.
