Switching out the engine and tranny on a 2001 dodge pickup 1500 318 automatic. Plan on using my 98 318 with the standard. Any complications or tips on the pedals or should I just switch the cabs?

If you install an older engine in your 2001 truck you may end up not being able to pass smog inspection. Check and see if they both fall under the same smog requirements. There will be emissions data on a sticker under the hood.

The cat is hulled out on the one I'm fixing so I gotta switch them anyways. Other than that I gotta cut a hole out for the stick and figure out how to add the clutch. Should I switch the steering column as well?
Changing from auto to manual is another thing, I missed that part. Hopefully the manual pedal set will bolt in. Most cars have optional mounting points so I think you will be good. The conversion will look a lot better if you put the correct steering column in.
