Transmission lost reverse out of nowhere no signs of any kind

Came home from beach had reverse drove home tryed
backing into drive way no reverse no signs of slipping.
Prior to this was perfect don't understand how this
happened

It has happened to me. If you look back there may have been small warning signs.
