For an engine to start it basically needs spark and fuel. Lack of spark would probably show a misfire code of some sort. (Check for spark anyway.) But lack of fuel doesn't always show a code. Check for fuel pressure at the injector rail. If you can hook up a gauge there should be about 55psi. If there's a problem, listen for pump to run, check fuse, relay, filter and regulator. The regulator might be built into the fuel filter.
