2002 Dodge Ram 1500 light problems
Asked by troystoy63 Feb 08, 2015 at 01:08 AM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2002 Ram 1500 and live in WI
My parking lights and tail lights quit working. After research found probable cause in fuse box. Disassembled and attempted to repair. After I put back together I still had no parking or tail lights, plus now no headlights or brake lights or turn signals. I purchased a used fuse box from Georgia. Cleaned and installed on truck. No lights at all with light switch. When I turn the key to on position the headlights parking lights and tail lights come on. No brake, turn or high beams, also fog lights don't work, wipers also not working now. What should I check next?

the problem is that the TIPM ( totally integrated power module) you bought is programmed to the VIN of the vehicle that it came off and doesn't recognize the bus messages that the switches are sending ...unfortunately I don't think that the TIPM can be reprogrammed ...you can try to do it but will need a DRB III scan tool to do so ...and if you need to buy a new TIPM it to will need to be programed
I bought a TIPM OFF EBAY,still working 3yrs later.
I had the same problem with my 2002 dodge and I got a tipm/fuse box form a salvage yard and it fixed my issue
I have a 2002 dodge ram with the same problem, however I'm a bit confused as the 2002 model year dosent have a tipm (that started in 2004) they have an fcm and an icm. Where should I start??
