Gauges don't work but lights work and say no bus

Asked by Brandon Dec 04, 2017 at 04:51 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 ST Quad Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is the plug right behind the battery (the antilock brake system plug) having water in it. There is a TSB on this however the repair piece is no longer available because the vehicle is to old. I bet you washed down the engine compartment or underside of the hood with a hose or drove through some very high water. Anyway Un-plug the battery. Un-plug the plug. Blow it out with an air hose. Pack it with dilectric grease and plug it back in. Dash lights, windshield wipers, horn etc will all work again. Somehow it's in line with the Cabin computer module or whatever it's called and it freaks the computer out when it get full of water and shorts. I didn't have to replace mine, just did as stated above. Good Luck F. Albury
