Im trying to put an 08 3.7 ram 1500 engine into an 03 3.7 ram 1500. Are the ring tones the same? Externally all i see different is the 03 3.7 is cable driven throttlebody anf the 08 3.7 is throttle by wire. The intake manifolds wiil swap no problem and exaust manifolds..all the sensors are in the same spot. Tone wheel reluctor ring the same?

02and 03 have a 16thooth tone gear on crank and different cam toner as well the 04 to 06 have a 32 tooth gear on crank so for it to work with your ecu you will have change them out for engine to work with ecu

I beleave the 07 and 08 have different tone gear as well so for it to work you will have to swap right cam gear and crank shaft tone gear

I have an 03 ram 1500 slt 5.4 magnum and was wondering what bigger engines fit it. Was trying to viper swap it and if I could what year would be best
