possibly one of the sockets is losing contact or a globe filament is broke and swinging off and on , causing the trigger

I had the same problem. Had my wife stand behind the truck, and sure enough, the right brake light was not working. I took the bulb out. It looked good. Rotated it 180 degrees, re-installed it. Now it works and the 'Lamp Out' indicator is off. Hope it lasts.
1 of the back signal was doing the same i took out wit the signal working reistaled but not to the bottom pull it out just a little and it works never will hear the chimney again
Maybe it's a 03 dodge thing but mine is doing this and now my lamp out light is staying on so I'll try this thanks
I 02 RAM 1500, it had the lamp out. I checked every light and evething looked fine blinkers lights back lights etc.I drove it two weeks hearing beep beep.it was making me crazy until I turned every light on including hazarous lights there was the probem my left hazarous light did not work.
05 Ram 3500.. Any other truck info doesnt mean snot.. If your using LED upgrade. You need a resistor, 25w 6ohm. If not, then it's a small ground short or like the guys said probably just a bulb on its way out.
mine is doing the same thing checked everything and nothing is out ... any ideas or how did u guys fix it
Just had this happen no working brakes driving tails work good. I took the back lamps off changed the bulbs and they worked fine. Put it back together and closed the tail gate and the lamp out came on again I believe the bulb socket holds the bulb in too loosely and light shock causes the bulb filament terminal to inch away from the socket base causing the short....
In my case, after scratching my head because all the bulbs were good and all of the power was good, it was the break light in the cargo light. I'm not sure how many people think about it, I only noticed because I had the break pedal jammed and I was checking lights, my son got something out of the rear if the cab and slammed the door and presto: the break light in the cargo light illuminated and the 'lamp out' light was no more. I hopped up there and tapped on it and it was intermittent. That was fun.
I literally just had this same problem. Turned out to be the brake light switch.

I had this problem with my right rear running lights. I changed the bulb and socket. I checked for power coming from the engine and got nothing. I spliced into the power wire of the light that was not working. Then I jumped power from the other light by running a wire from the side that I had running lights on. I read that I had to change some computer boards and take a whole bunch of crap apart. So "I jumped it". I had my interior lights out and completely forgot about them for months due to my driving during the day. The lamplight did not come on what so ever. My family and I were eating in my truck at night cause we got a quick bite to eat. I realized then, my lights were out. I went to change the fuse inside the box and the lights came on inside the cab. The lamp light warning has continued to come off and on while I drive. I have checked my bed lights all around and up and down. The damn light still comes on. Sorry for the long-ass story!
I too have had the problem of the lights out indicator coming on even though all lights working. Turns out that one taillight bulb that was working had some melted plastic on the filament. Changed it out and indicator light no longer on. In sum, check all your bulbs even if they are working.
change the light sockets or the bulb it may happen like the filament of the bulb is little broken but still working so light out signal comes. If all the lights are fine then you can try disconnecting the line of the batteries and connect the two-point negative and positive together. keep them like this for at least 10 to 15 minutes. After then connect the positive one at first and then the negative terminal. now check if it has been reset or not.
I have a 04. No bulbs out. But it beeps every time I hit the brakes, then turn left blinker on and does same. But I check and all bulbs are good. I’ve rotated them and even changed them. Nothing works.
I have 04 2500 hemi. Replaced both headlights with new ones. All work fine individually. When lights are not on directional and 4 way ok. As soon as I put headlights on lamp out blinks and beeps when I put 4 ways on or directional on. Doesn't make sense. Any ideas?
I've still yet to find the solution to this issue in my 2004 Ram Sport, I have read somewhere about a possible electrical malfunction underneath the battery due to poor insulation....any updates??
I had this issue w/ my 2002 Ram 1500. I had replaced 7 of the exterior lights. The lamp out continued to be a problem. I had noticed that when I turned on the right turn signal, it cancelled out the problem, indicating to me the problem was on the passenger side of the vehicle. One night, I turned on all external lights and carefully inspected each light. I noticed that the passenger tail lights were only slightly dimmer than the driver side. I replaced all 3 bulbs in the passenger rear housing and the problem ceased. Turn on all of your lights during night and carefully inspect each light. Just because it's working doesn't mean proper voltage is getting through. These things are incredibly sensitive to voltage levels it seems
