Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The Throttle body clicks with I turn the ignition on and the motor turns however there is not firing.  It has a brand new battery and  throttle body and plugs were replaced about 1 yr ago.  I have not had any issues with this vehicle until today.  195K miles and still running strong.

The first thing to do is find out if you have spark at the engine and fuel as well. That will help narrow things down.

I verified spark, I also sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and the engine started then died. I checked the fuse and it's good and I swapped out the relay with the relay from the fog light. Nothing changed. It's still not starting. I'm suspecting a bad fuel pump. How do i test that before I have to purchase a $200 part?

Check the fuel pump fuse. Sometimes you can rap on the side of the pump and it will start due to contacts that are going bad. If so replace the pump.

I checked the fuse and the relay, no change. I really cant find the pump either. I'm looking through my haynes manual and it tells me where it is locate, though I don't see it on top of the tank. It is very difficult to view with a flashlight because the bed is still on. Working by myself and I don't have a lift or hydraulic jack. Guess I'm going to have to enlist some help to remove the bed.

I had this problem, truck would not read over half a tank and would intermittently loose power when driving but would restart if it stalled. One day just died, like a lot of self repair mechanics through in parts. Crank sensor, cam sensor, computer, and finally fuel pump. The fuel pump did the trick. Truck threw no codes and talked to mechanics, none gave me an answer that lead to the problem.
