5.7 hemi to a 318

Asked by Markt8687 Oct 20, 2018 at 12:20 AM about the 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 that just
blew up...I'm wanting to find a cheaper motor  to
drop in...like a 4.7 or a 318...what would I have to
change out to make this work?

Swapping in the wrong engine will not be cheaper!

So what would be the best course of action...I have a big hole in the side of the block...and this was my daily driver...I'm currently borrowing a car.
