2004 dodge ram misfires only when I do a cold start?

Asked by Bill Feb 06, 2017 at 09:48 PM about the 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I first start up my engine in the morning I can notice the misfire and the
engine light for cylinder 8 will come on. But after it warms up the truck runs
smooth as can be and once it's warmed up if I turn the truck off and back on
the engine light will turn off. I've done a compression test and they are all
good and I replaced #8 ignition coil. What else could be the problem?

I've ran fuel injector cleaner through the system and that didn't really help either. I know I am running the wrong brand (Japanese brand) spark plugs right now. Could that be causing the issue?

Alright so just clean fuel injectors or replace them? Truck only has 124k miles on it.
