Asked by GuruDVHYG Aug 28, 2017 at 07:05 PM about the 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 ST LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cruise control on at 60 mph on flat level 4-lane.  Engine died.
Starts and immediately dies.  Fuel pump pressurizes to 58 psi.
Crankshaft position sensor connector dirty with oil & dust apparently coming from oil pressure sending unit at front of engine.
Oil pressure sending unit leaking - oil & dust around and below threads on mounting surface.
There is an oil drop on bottom of oil filter which is below oil sending unit.
Oil level on dipstick center of full.
I read that oil pressure sending unit has to be at least 15 psi before sending signal to computer to activate fuel pump for driving mode.
Anyone else have this problem?
