how to change a thermostat

Hi steve. Yes it needs a gasket and yes you can probably get one from your local Dodge dealer although you may have a shot at your local parts store as well. He's a short but sweet guide to switching out the thermostat. Hope it helps! Good luck. http://www.misterfixit.com/tstat.htm

your t-stat should be located at the engine side of your LOWER rad hose... it won't have a paper gasket, but a rubber seal that fits around the thermostat and settles into a depression in the housing... do not over tighten........ i'm a technician, and i have had a problem with overtightening those bolts...... consult your local dodge dealership for torque specs....... PEACE
