My 2002 dodge ram 1500 had a bad water pump so it sat for awhile until I could fix it. So the batery went dead, I did jump start it a couple times to move it. Ibve replaced the water pump and the batery but the little red light in the dash is on and none of the electronics work. The gauges the turns signals brake lights the headlights inside light none of these work. The headlights come on automatically and the tail lights work ( like it is in safe mode or something. Whats up? Does the computer need to be reprogramed or relearn? Im lost any help would be appreciated.
if the red light is blinking it means you need to either charge the battery or get a new 1.. if its a good battery try cleaning the termials.
new optima red top lasted 3weeks before it began again.
Our 2006 Dodge 3500 had the little round red light and nothing else electrical worked. It seems to be a security issue. We put jumper cables from another truck to both batteries and locked and unlocked the door with the key - the horn beeped and then the truck fired right up.
2002 Dodge Ram Security malfunction, if battery is dead charge then disconnect 15 minutes to 1 hour, computer will reset, reconnect battery. Car starts normally. Happens to me if I am parked I turn the car off then turn it back on without opening a door. The little red light drains the battery in 2 hours. This is why you may see some varying solutions and reactions from the electrical system.
So what should I do about my truck
what does it look like
My 2006 Dodge ram’s battery died and the fob won’t let me in the vehicle , what do I do

You have to disconnect the battery and hold the two wires together for 15 seconds or so while the key is on, also, you may need to have someone/something on the gas peddle so idle works. Reconnect and you'll be good.
disconnect the terminals and it will reset the the feature and the light will go off. then you can immediately reconnect the terminals and start it up if you have any juice in your battery
OMG I feel so stupid! The battery is too dead to open the doors, so we use the key to manually unlock it. THIS sets off the alarm however it is STILL a dead battery. You put a charge on the battery and try to start it but the security still has the truck shut down!! Use the key fob to reset the alarm. note: I'm still sitting in front of the computer and haven't actually seen if this will work, but it seems to make perfect sense.
My security light is still on after I disconnected the battery and touched the cable wire together
You have to get enough juice on your dead battery (or get a new one) to disarm the security system with your key-fob. Once you're disarmed you're good to go.

What if ya don't have a key fob my 2002 never came with 1
My 2002RAM HAD ON OLD BATTERY THAT HAD THE RED LIGHT FLASHING. We brought the battery into the garage and the charger would not recharge the battery, it was over 7 yrs. old We installed a new battery and new battery terminal clamps. Still, only the red light flashes, no movement of any gauges when turning on the key, key fob does NOTHING. I used a volt0ohm meter and the battery reads a 12.5 volt reading?? The ground seems to check out fine??
THE ANSWER IS: ITS THE SECURITY SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT!!! Not only does it kill the entire electrical system, but it runs down your battery. YOU MUST 1) Get a new battery because your old one is now toast because the little blinky light sucked every last electron out of it. 2) Use your key fob to deactivate the security system before it toasts your new battery,
How do you deactivate the security system using the keyfob sir^

2002 Dodge Ram runs but there is not power to the electrical things like the odometer, lights, head lights or break lights. The radio works but everything else does not. The red light constantly stays on. We replaced the batteries in the key fob. What could be the problem?
Its happening to me right now, im about to disconnect both terminals and wait 1 minute. Hopefully it does work. 2002 dodge ram 1500
We had the same problem spent so much money trying to fix it but guess what fixed now so before you spend HUNDREDS of dollar like we did go to a parts store and REPLACE your Battery CONNECTORS thats all we did cost us 8 dollars to fix it yeah you are reading that right all we had was the red light nothing els no power to anything dont take it in to get fixed cost you tuns of cash 8 dollars is all your need and well wrench
2004 Dodge, no key fob and the little light turned on and made a whirring sound. Everything turned off and My battery is only 2 years old if that. If it's the security system how do I shut it off?

The Chip quit in between starts on mine. After a new battery checking the wires et, it was suggested the key was the issue. I put the original key in and it started right up. After getting safely home, I tied the key in question. Didn’t start, the Red light flashed et. So I’m thinking it’s the 80 dollar spare key I had been useing.
Same issue here. I removed the battery and in the process I noticed the connectors were corroded. I got the battery tested at a local auto parts store and was told that there were no indicators that it could be defective, but being that it had over 5 years powering the engine I was told that it would not be a bad idea to replace it with a new one. I put a new battery, new battery connectors and new batteries for the door remote, and "brrrm, brrrm" back to normal. One Note; before I installed the new battery I held the negative and positive battery connectors against each other for 15 seconds (no battery in the truck and the battery was removed for over 2 hours) to reset the computer. So far, not only the blinking red light on the dash board (Anti- Theft Security) stopped blinking, but also the engine light turned off and a miss-fire issue the truck was having (related to ignition coils failure) has also gone away. I wiil keep my fingers crossed, but so far (over 50 miles) my 2003 RAM 1500 is running smooth and feeling like new (maybe all it needed was clean battery connectors) . I will update if anything changes within the next 1000 miles.

I'm wondering if any of you also had a TRAILER DISCONNECTED come on along with the little red light, and engine light. When I got the lights, it felt like limp mode at first, but then it felt like it could've been injectors misfiring. 2015 Ram Ecodiesel on original battery. No other clues that anything might be wrong with my battery. Truck will turn, just not start.
I tried what FLDoug said and it WORKED with ONLY the key: "Our 2006 Dodge 3500 had the little round red light and nothing else electrical worked. It seems to be a security issue. We put jumper cables from another truck to both batteries and locked and unlocked the door with the key - the horn beeped and then the truck fired right up."
