my 2005 5.7 hemi will not start, acts like it is out of gas

Check the pressure at the fuel rail then change the filter and check it again. If it goes up the pump is good. If it doesn't change the pump. The fuel filter should be changed anyway.

that's one end, and another is exhaust flow, clogged catalytic possible!

the vacuum line could have fallen off of the fuel pressure regulator, would cause increased idle speed and poopy acceleration~
