The electrical solenoid is located inside the door. If all the others work no matter what switch you use, by process of elimination I would say you either have a bad door lock switch (the one inside the door, not the one on the armrest) or the wires have fell off the switch inside the door. Remove the inside door panel while the window is up and have a look around. Use a test light to check if the door switch is good as well while your in there.

Remember the drivers door takes the most abuse due to use, so after seven years it would not surprise me if it was one or both electrical items that have gone bad in the door .
ok that's a big help ill pull the door panel off and see when I get some time, thank you for your quick response due to this can be annoying.i thought I was being an airhead and not locking my doors but come to finds out the driver side doesn't lock when I think it is. lol thanks again Ford
I have the same problem with my rear left side door on my 07 dodge 1500. I took the door lock latch assembly out and bench checked using 12 vdc and it worked So now i'll be looking for a wiring issue in the door harness, I was getting 11.57 vdc in the wiring harness in one from the green to purple wires, I'm thinking it maybe a fraying wire in the boot section behind the door .

I unlocked my doors and I heard a pop then smoke started coming out of my stearing wheel case then my drivers door wont unlock with the remote but it will lock with it on a 2005 dodge ram 1500
I foundbroke wire in the harness boot between the door and body, replaced the wire and all is good.

Im having an issue with the driverside door lock switch. All four doors are unresponsive. The Passenger side door switch will lock all 4 doors. I bought a new Switch cluster and still unresponsive. Traced out wires the furthest I could and found no loose wires... Im a little disappointed
