2005 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 Hemi loses power, the truck putts at about 55/60 mph.

Asked by Anthony May 10, 2018 at 08:47 AM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I reach highway speeds, the truck will start losing throttle for a sec off
and on until I reach lower speeds. Almost like a bad fuel filter but only at high
speeds.

Do you have or can you get access to a scanner that reads live data? If you don't have one, it's the best of $30-40 you can spend cause it'll save you time n money au plenty. Your looking for O2 sensor readings between .1 n 1volt/s on the upstreams and steady around .5-.7 volt/s on the downstream. The fuel trims, both long n short should be around "0" and what is your intake air temp compared to ambient. Take all these readings after the engine is at normal operating temp, at steady load and RPM. Take readings at idle, 1500 n 2500 RPM. You can do all of this in your driveway. Don't worry about the readings as the engine loads/RPM change. Without this info anything/everything else is a guess at best and the only change you'd prolly notice is your bank account getting smaller.
