When was the last time that the transmission was serviced? They can put a scanner on it and see what's going on.

Lays rubber. You do that often? If so that clues me in why your transmission is going.

im not sure i seviced it for the first time since i got it, its only got 115000km so i thinking i mite be the first to service it! i put the scanner on it at work but it told me to take it to the dealer my work deals in heavy trucks and trailers our scanner is limited to engine codes only

not oftin tires are expencive, it still pulls my 31 foot travel trailer around town wen i gota move it it first three gears are still ther and strong but i cant use 3rd case then it goes for forth then it sets off the safety and only gives me 2nd so i drive it in second gear so it doesnt shift past 2nd

dalski I did not intend to insult you, some guys like to 'burn rubber' just for fun. I'm happy to hear that you don't.

is ther a chance that some kinda a shift selinoid died of something?

I'm thinking not. If the relay/solenoid was faulty you would have trouble in more than one gear. But if you pull code P0700 or P0750 then that is solenoid

wen it started to quit it would shift into fourth then third back in fourth after about 5 tries it would finally stay in then one day fourth just stopped working now its just a nutral and goes down into third and sets off the coedes

Yes, it can All I could find about that was an article on replacing the whole valve body, but you might consider that anyway, it mentions the solenoid there: http://www.ehow.com/how_5805432_replace-valve-body-dodge-truck.html
