What's an average cost to swoop over from
standard to automatic

Your best bet would be to replace the vehicle. This involves not only swapping out the trannies, but the ECM/computer as well. I'm not sure that the engine would have all the accouterments it needs to talk to a new ECM for an automatic either. These bad boys are made in a very specific manner from the factory for the equipment they have. Changing things like this around gets very complicated.
