Overheating: 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi. Please help!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I've replaced the thermostat, radiator, water pump, & coolant sensor. Before I replace the thermostat- the temp would fluctuate every 15 seconds from 1/2 to 3/4 back and forth. After I replaced the thermostat- it goes to 3/4 and fluctuates a little...but not much. If anything, it goes up and gets close to the red zone and then back down. It doesn't increase with speed. The fan clutch seems to be working. I do here gurgling sometimes. I don't see any leaks. Any help is appreciated!

If you've done all the work mentioned, sounds like you have air in the system. When the air gets over the sensor, the air is always hotter than the liquid thus the sensor reads this. Trying bleeding the air out and post results.
I tried bleeding the air. I let it run through several cycles as I added water. It took a lot of water. I turned on the heat and noticed the heat temp goes up and down....it seemed to be hot when the temp gauge was at 1/2 and seemed to cool off as the temp gauge went to 5/8. I'm wondering if its the heater core? I don't see any leaks and the floor board isn't wet. I've also read about a head gasket leak? Thanks for any help.
My truck is doing the same thing. Please can anyone help. I think today I will bypass the heater core. Ray S , El Paso Tx.
My truck is the same, replaced everything, fan clutch, water pump, lower radiator hose, radiator, sensor. Please help
Ok so far this is what I've figured out. I've replaced the radiator, the thermostat twice and the third one a 180, replaced the radiator cap, the water pump, everything except the heater core. I've been trying to figure out the problem for months. Started out with a coolant flush this summer. First problem, I replaced the coolant with just the normal green stuff. Prestone. WRONG STUFF.......... I spoke with a mechanic and he told me Dodge should take PINK OR ORANGE. So I did a flush again ran for 4 hour trip to make sure I got it good and flushed. Ran water through it, more water through it and more. Really wanted to make sure I had all that green stuff out. I replaced with orange and have not had a problem since. Who knew.......ohh those who read the owners manual, that's who. Honestly, I hope I'm not wrong in saying this but I thought that coolant was coolant. No matter what color. Now after reading up on it I know it is definitely different.
In some rams 1500 you need to check the fan clutch too if not working ok replace, also after I did my water pump and thermost I bleed the system to do to air.
Did you removed the air from the system, need to turn the heater on and on the upper hose to the engine there is a Allen wrench screw open and removed the air.good luck.
Update on mine, after everything in the cooling system replaced going through three different thermostat. I mean everything replaced except for heater core. Turns out yup I had a blown head gasket. Took it in to the shop a week later she runs like a top. Even have a high pitch turbo whine I didn't have before. I have no turbo but it sounds healthy and very good.
Mine did the same thing i replaced the thermostat and spent an hour getting all the air out constantly squeezing the coolant lines and running it half a mile or so down the road and back then carefully cracking my cap with welding gloves on just enough to let coolant run out then repeat a few times before all the air was out runs great now
