how to clean the cabin air filter on a 2006 dodge ram 1500

Tom, thank you for your answer. However I disagree with you since I have located a filter housing just abover the blower motor. I have already removed two screws that hold the cover down. The cover is now somewhat loose but evediently something else is holding it down. There is a filter inside since I can get my finger thru the grill work and can move the filter. If I raise it a little, I get the full blast of the blower as I had before when the truck was newer.
Tom, you were right after all. What I thought was a cabin air filter turned out to be the foam flapper that closes off the outside air so the cabin air can re-circulate. The flapper had broken off the control motor and was laying on top of the blower moter keeping the full force of the air from coming out the vents.
I'm having this same issue, Lilbear2, how exactly did you figure this all out and how can I fix it?
Take the blower motor off by removing the three or four screws that hold it on and then reach up in there with your fingers and break the flapper in two. Pull out the pieces and throw them away. You now have a hybrid system that will never break again and the repair cost nothing!
Can you guys make a video. To show
Can someone PLEASE tell me if a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 has a cabin air filter. Our air blows, just not good....like something is stopped up! Please help! This south GA heat is killin me!!!
Remove the blower motor located beneath the glovebox, attached by 3 or 4 screws Reach in and you will feel the plastic door that has broken off, I was able to remove it in one piece, some have said you can break it in half to make removal easier, reinstall blower motor. you will now have free flowing air from the system but no control of recirculating air/ fresh air. I did this years ago with no problems
