I've got a 1998 2500 ram v8 but no matter the dodge from that time frame are notorious for loosing ground the inner finders are spot welded and they get rust between them therefore you loose ground my truck did this mine was a simple fix I ran 3 ground straps from the frame one to each inter finder and one to the firewall making sure the paint was removed under the straps cured my problems. It's easy and cheap worth a try
