Please help how do I put my truck back together?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Dodge ram V 10, 2 500 1998. I think
it’s a half year not sure anyways I need to
know why it is in limp mode. I know some
wires and melted a little bit from the electrical
issue with the lights and the electrical switch
for it melted I’ve been using no switch and
just twisting the wires well if heat it up for
some reason which means I’m probably
hooking up the wrong wires to make it work
but anyhow, my truck was also stolen. They
popped out ignition, and somehow the wires
for the ignition melted a little bit. Not sure if it’s
because of the switch that’s not working
correctly and twisting the wires together, and
that maybe having something to do with why
my Dodgers in limp mode I can’t go out of
second gear, and my boyfriend has torn apart
the dashboard and electrical and I’m not quite
sure how to put it back together. I’m not
asking him to do it because I’m tired of
waiting. I want to do it myself , any thoughts
or ideas on where to get started? The whole
dash is been taken apart wires been cut and
replaced at least that’s what I was told just a
melted ones but now I need to be put back
together. Please help me thank you so much
oh just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean I can’t
handle working on this truck so please let me
know .

Looking at your picture, this is a parts vehicle. Either buy another truck just like this one and use this one for parts, or junk it and move on. You'll spend way more time and money on this than it's worth! Jim
