is it my trany or t case

i have a 1998 ram 2500 v10 standard and i was driveing and it started like
grinding i pushed in the cluch and it quit before i came to a stop i let the
cluch out and it was fine then it didnt do it agin for a couple days then did it
agin but it didnt work this time when i let the cluch out so when it stoped i
tryed putting it in gear and let the ciuch out just grinds 2wd and 4 high but
in 4 low its fine i drove it home in 4 low what could it be

i also have a 99 ram half ton with 318 or 5.2 and it also is a stanard will the trany and t case bolt up to my 3!4 ton v10

Check the fluid level and condition in the transfer case. My guess is you will either find low fluid level or fluid with metal in it.
