Speedo/odometer don't work

Asked by oldguystruck May 21, 2023 at 02:52 PM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 2500 SLT LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When getting an emissions inspection was throwing a P0500 code (speed
sensor). Changed the speed sensor on the transmission,  continuity tested
good between the speed sensor connector and pins 25 & 28 on the ECM
harness, stuck a screwdriver in the sensor hole and the ring wasn't loose,
brother hooked up a code reader and saw no data stream for MPH, installed
a programmed ECM from Autozone - speedo still doesn't work. Hooked up a
code reader I bought and it shows no output for MPH. I'm stumped.
