Around a gallon of water poured into my gas tank

Asked by Gage_Hulett3 Mar 25, 2018 at 11:12 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2-Door RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Before I start I must say I don't know much when it
comes to vehicles and engines etc. Someone
poured around a gallon of water into my gas tank.
After driving about half a mile my 2000 chevy
blazer died on me. I disconnected the fuel line and
turned  the key on and of repeatedly (Not cranking
the car) letting the fuel injector drain the gas tank.
Note i also let the watered down gas spill from the
fuel line that goes to the engine, and put gasoline
and "Heet" water remover back in the gas tank. My
truck will try to crank until the battery dies but
won't fire up. What could be causing this? Does
something need to be replaced or can it be fixed?

The fuel pump is cooled my the fuel returning from the pressure regulator. If you disconnected the fuel line and used the pump to empty it you just ruined your pump
