Break lights won't turn off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
When I press the break petal, the breaks stay on after after ai release the petal.
When I disconnect the battery, the break lights go off and stay off when I
reconnect the battery. The break lights will also go off if I pull the left trailer
light fuse. The lights will stay off when I replace the fuse and stay off until I
press the break petal again. Does the wire from the LT fuse to the trailer
receptical pass through through some kind of a relay that might be sticking?

I replaced the break petal switch but still no change in break light malfunction.
Brake pedal switch is out of adjustment or is bad. Try adjusting it first.
I can manually depress the new break petal button and it still won't turn off the lights.
Then it's a wiring issue or a body control module issue. You'll need a scan tool with live data to see if the BCM is receiving a brake light signal from the switch/harness
Thanks for the direction. I'll get it checked out.
