1998 3500 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 litre

Asked by Gibbsy Feb 17, 2016 at 07:02 PM about the 1998 Dodge RAM 3500 Laramie SLT LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At first start it will run fine for awhile, then it
will start popping , spitting , & spuddering,
and then it will clear itself up. We changed
the distributor, cap, rotor, coil, plugs &
wires and it still does it with no codes
showing.

May have a faulty EGR valve, Check it for function, clean the carbon out, make sure it closes.
