Desperate for advice

Asked by Guru9HSCSD Nov 10, 2021 at 07:18 PM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 3500 SLT LB DRW RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving down the interstate my dodge ram 2003 died no
noise no smell no warning the first time it cranked right back
up and I made it home. Over the course of two days it got
worse happening more often and Everytime I came to a stop.
Lastly it has gotten to where once the engine warms up it dies
and will not restart. We had it towed to a mechanic shop and
replaced emc battery and a list of things. That shop is a well
respected shop that does great work. Unfortunately after
sitting there for almost three months they have called me to
come get it free of charge because he can not figure out the
problem. Can someone help me??? This is my only vehicle and
subsequently I have lost my job for not having a way to
work...help please

They had it for 3 months then let you know they couldn't figure it out ? Doesn't sound like a reputable shop to me .

It sounds like an ignition system problem. When the ignition coil or ignition control module gets hot it's breaking down and quits. But if it were me, I'd trade it in on something newer that wants to run. BTW, having a vehicle for 3 months is unacceptable! Hope that helps! Jim
