check gage alarm

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since I changed oil & filter two weeks ago, I have been getting a check gages alarm whenever the truck comes down to an idle, it was about a litre low on oil, I topped it up, disconnected both negative battery cables for about 10 minutes, cleaned up both posts & terminals & reinstalled them. I still have the alarm.
Had a friend hook up  a code reader, it didn't show a code.

disconnecting the battery will not do anything to clear any codes. that used to work on some vehicles built in the 90's. your friends code reader may only pick up emissions related issues that are triggered by the malfunction indicator light, also known as the "check engine" light.
