Can someone describe to me the actual location for the ignition coils for my Mercedes Benz C220 1996, and the original and OEM part number for it?

I was advised that the ignition coils are located in the engine area on the
passenger side near the air filter area to the left of the housing of the spark
plugs. I looked but couldn't find it. Also need the part number for the coil as
well. I understand that there should be two coils and each has two outlets
connecting to the corresponding spark plugs . Thanks!

Yes, follow the spark plug wires back to coil(s) from the spark plugs, if no spark plug wire then coil is on spark plug.

If yours has a distributor cap then follow wires from distributor to somewhere near there like side of firewall/engine mounted up high.

Look up the coils on the net so you can get a picture of them so you know what it looks like.

See if that above is yours if not can still search for the correct on there.
Thanks for your quick reply :) . Actually I checked for the coils next to the spark plugs area but nothing was there other than the spark plugs. I will trace the plug connectors and see where they lead. I looked up hecklersmbzparts.com and they have the coil , however I couldn't find the one I need to replace in my own car. I know this sounds strange..Help!
I looked up the link you provided but I couldn't find anything like it on the engine area. will keep looking thanks
