my 2000 chev express 1500.start sometime, but sometimes won't start,could it be the fuel pump?

I'd look at the battery...the age of the battery 5=too old~ next I'd disassemble the 1/0 lug from the battery cable to the chassis where it gets bolted to...wirebrush the lug and the place down to metal where it bolts to~ You will realize Full potential of your battery (such as it is)~
