car battery appears to be dead

recently when my car was being worked on by a neighbor he disconnected the battery
to change an electrical related part... he realized he shouldnt have closed the trunk and
now he doesnt know how to get back into the trunk... so he pulls the back seat off to
see if he can acsess  the trunk through back seat ,well he finds out that he cant and
put it back together...  then two days of it sitting with the interior light on unbenownst to
me it appeared to drain the battery cause now it wont start... all lights com on even the
beeping with key in ignition... but steering isn't locked but won't turn easily...so then he
jumped it and nothing it wont start then he charged it for 5 hours on low amperage still
wont start he checked it and it showed 12 volts so we swapped it with new battery still
wont start... somebody please help???

When you change a Battery, You need to reset certain features in the car. I am not sure of what exactly need to be reset. Please take it a local mechanic (like Tiresplus or something similar) who can work on Mercedes Benz. They will reset.
