2001 c240

I'm having some issues with my car and hope
someone can point me in the right direction.  First
of my fuel gauge doesn't read correctly cause full
line means half and when it reaches to half mark
it's empty. 2nd when the car is down shifting at low
speeds the transmission give a thud sound. Can
anyone help me out?

You may need a new Fuel Pump Module Assembly back in the gas tank for the gas gauge to read correctly, Check this sight out....https://www.carid.com/2001-mercedes-c-class-fuel-delivery-parts/spectra-premium-fuel-tank-module-assembly-250914491.html-----And I suggest having a trusted shop check out the thud in the trany. May be as simple as a u-joint.
