I was thinking of purchasing a 2002 Mercedes Kompressor with 42,500 miles for $9,995. Is this a good buy or should I be worried about the age of the car and why it has such low miles on it? What can I expect as far as how long it will last me and the maintenance on it?

In my area, the asking price is way high. $1400 over the $8600 value if it was in excellent condition with average options. Check KBB.com and Edmunds.com to see what it's worth where you live.
Thank you for your answer, I really appreciate it. How about as far as the car? It seems to be in great condition, but I have to admit, the age of the car is worrying to me, even though the miles seem so low for a 2002 car. At 42K miles, that's nothing for a Mercedes, it's practically brand new. If the car has all the service done and records show it, it should be a good buy, although I would talk them down on the price a little. I have a 1999 C280 with 180K miles on it and it has not given me any trouble and still drives and looks like new. However having said that, the build quality of the W202 and all the Mercedes from the 1990s was far better that the early 2000 cars
