Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Mercedes C240 is stuck in 1st gear....initially i thought it was the
transmission and i had it replaced but the same problem persisted. Codes
P0600 (Communication Link) and P0720 (Crankshaft Speed Sensor) are what
the diagnostic reading. What could be the problem?

Have the codes read with a MB specific code reader. Could be related to the conductor plate, solenoids, or even the harness. Good Luck!

Since the complete transmission was changed, won't it have a new conductor plate, solenoids and harness?

They may have swapped the old one to the new transmission. You'll have to talk to the repair people on that. The harness plug is prone to leaks on this type of transmission. Oil can wick through the plug seal and cause all sorts of issues and no the harness wiring is not included with the transmission.
