I was at a stop light and all of a sudden my car began running rough when I started to accelerate it wouldn't throttle up and it had no power the more I throttled the worse it got.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to slowly accelerate or it would almost die I baby it back home let it set a couple of hrs. it started and ran good for about 5 or 10 mins. then it began running rough with no power when I tried to accelerate it would sputter & bog down so I feathered the throttle to get back home it kept trying to die but I played with the throttle to keep it running. Any Idea's what's happening..? If anyone has a Idea what the hell happening I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter maybe we could barter or trade I don't have a-lot of money but I do have a wife that can cook & clean and a couple of kids that are good for something wait a minute I take that back these two won't even clean there rooms if I asked them to do something around the house they want to get paid so better forget I even mentioned them. LOL... Thanks blancodw

The easiest and simplest thing to do is look for those nasty little vacuum leaks, especially with PCV valve and elbow. Sometimes just feeling around a vacuum line you can detect a small leak by change in air pressure as your fingers pass over or near the leak. (just keep your hand away from the fan and exhaust.) A bad EGR can also lead to bogging down, if it's opening when it shouldn't (namely at idle and low RPM). If the car runs good at high RPM I'd definitely look at the EGR.
