Mercedes c240 2003 gives "coolant visit workshop" error.
Asked by IngoU May 09, 2015 at 01:32 PM about the 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 240 4MATIC AWD Wagon
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I've been down a couple of roads on this already, I think it may be the cooling fan
wiring/connector, but now tried an Actron CP9550 to see if OBD codes might help before I
tear things apart. But it reports NO CODES, No freeze frames, nothing. Even though the
dash says "1 malfunction". How can this even be? New to the actron but with 3 buttons
what could I be doing wrong? Thanks guys! -Ingo

When I received my new C230 in 1997 the A/C went out the first month and had to be replaced then.

Please check whether the Temperature of the engine rises fast and beyond 100 F. If so please stop driving the car and check for the water pump. Also you can check whether any cracks are there in the Poly V belt that it stops of slips the rotation. In that case you could end up in the malfunction of Alternator and Water pump. If you find these in your car, Please take the car to near by Mechanic they can fix them, not necessarily Benz showroom/service station.
I have had the "coolant visit workshop" message appear over the past 2 months on my 240C 4matic 2005. The message will appear when the car is started, stay on a for a day or two and then disappear. When that happens, it cannot be found in the memory. The message reappears every so often, and the process repeats itself. No evidence that temp increase above normal (~80), or that coolant is low. Any ideas?
c 230 ,04 temp raise above 80 in less than 20 minutes..coolant is nl fan stable ,drop of water from exhaust, what to do? is this a free or non cost post?
