Check out www.carsurvey.org for some real-people reviews of these cars and what has gone wrong with them. I have heard very little bad about them in the automotive press, but that is to be expected.

i would try to stay away from 2004 and earlier, just because i have heard that those years (2001-2004) have had a lot of lemons, 2005 -2007 are probably the best years to get a w203 platform c class becuase mercedes worked out all the kinks by that time, ( I would hope ) And I have heard the hatchback wasn't that good of a car, but that's only what i heard.

depends on how you treat it. def not a car you can drive hard put away wet and expect a long life out of. Plus its supercharged so that just tells you to drive it harder. Be prepared to shell out a lot of cash for repairs when things do break. They arent to fast either i wasnt impressed

In My opinion it is reliable but you should also consult other people before taking any decision. New Cars
