Shifting problem

Asked by Deep Aug 27, 2016 at 10:59 PM about the 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK CLK 320 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 clk 320 right now it will not shift out of
first gear. Previous to this it would sometimes stick
in a gear however if I put the car in park and turned
it off once it started again it would be fine, now it is
stuck and that will not remedy the situation. Any
ideas or has anyone experienced similar

ETC ele. tran control is under the carpet on the passenger side remve carpet and cover and see if you got any fluid on etc box it self.Unplug it and clean with brake or carb cleaner and plug it back and see.If it does not work.get the part number and buy the same from ebay or junk yard.If it is the same number it should work. Other option have it diagnosed with mercedes sys. and post the code. But I am sure first option will work
