How long should the rear track bar be set for a 2000 Chevy Impala?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced a track bar on the driver side rear of my 2000 Chevy Impala. The part I took off was bent beyond repair, I am unable to measure the length of the bar now, the part i put on came off of a 1999 model Impala but right now it is too long to the point that the wheel is turning inward. What should the length be set at? I have to drive it to the shop for an alignment, I just need to get an estimate on the length so I can drive it 20 minutes up the road.

There is no set rule on the lengh to be set. you can getting as close as you can by eye (look at the front and make sure it straight with the rear). Driving 20 min slow speed is not bad. But if your worried, just tow it. Good luck :-)
