Inside door locks

Asked by John Nov 03, 2014 at 05:09 PM about the 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 Coupe

Question type: General

OK, today my wife picked me up in her 2003 CLK320 we just bought.  Very clean with only 24K miles on it.  She tried to unlock the door so I could get in.  She could not find the interior door lock/unlock mechanism.  Being the wise man and not saying anything but to just give her encouragement of it being a new car to her, I had her turn off the car and use the key fob to unlock the car.  As we were driving down the road, I tried to locate the way to lock or unlock the car.  Either I don't understand German symbols or am going blind.  Where the heck are the controls to operate the door locking mechanism?

Actually I found it. It is a switch in the middle of the dash, just below the center air vent. It has a small key push the top to unlock, the bottom (no markings) to lock. Not even near the hazard switch. First time I've seen on in the center of the dash and not on a door. Thanks for the help. Next time I'll read the directions. We did have a good laugh over it though.
